Kilted Fridays Adventures
For a few years now, I kilt up on Fridays, taking a spin on the term casual Fridays, calling it ‘Kilted Fridays’. An easy answer to anyone who asks, why are you wearing a kilt?’ It’s Kilted Friday!
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on my adventures. I’ve decided to start this thread to tell about them and perhaps post a pic or two.
Today, I am wearing my Newsome Box Pleat in the XMarks the Scot tartan. One of my residents where I work as manager of a gated community of active adults came to the office for photocopying of an activity announcement. She complimented me on my appearance and asked what family tartan was I wearing?
So that gave me a good opportunity to tell her about our online community of kilt wearers. I showed her too, my XMarks the Scot Ryan Ross bonnet pinned with our Clan Crest badge.
She inquired about the ‘tassels’ hanging from my ‘socks’. I explained as she would remember once women wore garters to hold up her hose. So do I, showing her the tied garter by unfolding the cuff. She was quite impressed! She liked quite a bit the colors of the tartan, as I do too.
A very fun encounter!
The sporran is a recent purchase from the STM Gift Shop, a custom L&M, an excellent price with a speedy delivery.

Awesome thread, Ern, and you're looking sharp as always.
It's great to be able to get the word about this stuff out to the public, and it seems you're in an especially good position to do that!
I like the new sporran, and I'm always a big fan of the sweater vest worn with a kilt (or even p@nts, for that matter).

Re: Kilted Fridays Adventures
The work day ended with a couple coming by the office who are considering buying a home in our community. They first came by the office three weeks ago, and the husband said to me, ‘where’s the kilt?’ I stood up from my chair to answer the question. They had been at our recent Burns’ Supper. They had learned about our Scottish Society when we held our Wallace Day Celebration at the Park Lane Tavern last August.
I answered some more of their questions and invited them to attend the members’ happy hour which was soon to start at the Clubhouse. I was ending my day and leaving when the wife said I just love it that you wear the kilt. You know I think they are always showing up on Fridays.
The perfect ending to Kilted Fridays is heading to Park Lane for a pint (or two) and dinner. The staff there is quite appreciative of their kilted patron. After all we share being kilted. However the lasses wear theirs more than a little above the knee!

Tassels on their socks? No, but I'm seeing images of tassels somewhere else . . . No, haven't seen any tassels.

Great idea for a thread. I'm loving it. I like the sweater vest as well.
