    serendipitous moment...

I happened to be walking by the classroom in our library after doing our hourly head-count, and noticed four students in the room (the doors are glass), three girls dressed in "peasant" blouses, and the one lad in a "homemade" great kilt in Black Watch wi' a black Jacobite shirt! They said that they were rehearsing for a play they were presenting in class about Scottish folklore, and that the fellow had borrowed the kilt from a friend!

A nice surprise to see another kilt on campus!

    Cheers,

    T.

Just got a sad note that my old chapter house of my fraternity at Oregon State University has closed, given up the ghost for a while. I think fraternities everywhere are struggling for membership.

Probably because my fraternity never adopted a tartan and took to wearing kilts on campus. Fraternity colors are cardinal and grey. Those colors could make a beautiful kilt.

Now, off to plant the seed for fraternities to take the lead in bringing kilts to campus.
