    Tunes of Glory...

It's on DVD now, Graham...I bought mine at Barnes and Noble (www.barnesandnoble.com), but do the Aussies do the same "version" of a DVD that we do?

    Cheers,

    T.

    Tunes of Glory

I've had the VHS version of it for years now; it's one of the very best kilt-featuring movies.

But then I understand from discussion with Brits that all VHS formats are not the same either.

American video format is called NTSC the Brittish/Australian (and most of the world) is the PAL video format. This applies to any form of video, so an English version of the movie on VHS will play in Australia. DVD's are also encoded by region. Europe is region 2 and Australia is region 4 so an English DVD will not play in an Australian DVD player (though you could hook a British DVD to an Australian TV and it would work fine.

    Graham,

Make a 'Google' search for "Tunes of Glory" and select the Amazon entry listed.

This will give you info on the Video availability (if you click on "Product Information" there, you'll be given information on the suitability of the version in all parts of the world. It is currently on offer there at under US$8.00.

Also included are some glowing and quite detailed reviews of the film.

There is also a link there to the DVD version but, on looking at the DVD "Product Information", playing the DVD in Australia does not seem to be on the cards.

Try Australian Amazon (if there is such a thing).

Sorry not to be more helpful.

Amazon.ca currently has Tunes of Glory. But, they want 42.28CAD. A little, or a lot, rich for me.
