Kilt sighting

I was bussing home alte last night, and a guy in a very sharp-looking kilt and dress outfit sat down beside me. We got to talking, he was on his way home from playing the pipes at his grandmothers eighty-third birthday. He said it was a McCloud of.. something tartan, it was yellow based, very very yellow (he was fairly drunk as well, so I could have heard him wrong though).

That's the MacLeod of Lewis tartan, though it wasn't me on the bus. My Grandmas are all gone, I don't play the pipes, and I'm a bit of a teetotaler.

Bear, me ol' pal, I am not suggesting for one moment that you would ever get out of your mind with the effects of the demon drink, especially on a bus, but are you telling us then that the Guinness glass beside you on the table, contains a dark lemonade? Or is it a Diet Coke?

Actually Hamish as a man who is stricly against alcohol abuse, you should love and appreciate your alcohol. That pint of dark heaven looks a bit off to my eyes...I think that might be a candle.

But I do remember seeing Bear in some pictures on his website with pints around him. everyone else's I am sure.

Oh, I do, Your Reverence. I do! However, at the moment, I am feeling the sad effects of denial - I've given up all alcohol for Lent. Sparkling mineral water with ice and lemon is no substitute for a G&T!

I dare say I'll have redeveloped a taste for the real thing before the August kilts night in Vancouver!

Two simple ways to tell if one has a problem with spirits.

Drink and see what happens...i.e. the kilted drunk on the bus...

Or,

Don't drink and see what happens....do ya "gotta" drink sooner or later?

Can't figure if the "loud MacLeod tartan" would sober someone up or further intoxicate them...??
