    Traditional Boxpleat Is Here!!

Got in from work this evening to a nice surprise. My new Boxpleated kilt had arrived a day or two earlier than I had expected it.

Now, about the kilt. This thing is amazing! 16oz MacLeod of Lewis from D. C. Dalgleish crafted (sewn is too weak a word) by Matt. Fits like it was made for me (it was ) and looks like a dream.

Pleated to the red, the solid black doesn't show on the rear so it looks like two different kilts front to back. I chose to have it pleated that way since it shows more of the yellow and seems to open up the kilt more than pleating to the black.

Now about the pleats. Very different looking than the usual knife edged pleats. Unusual at first but very eye catching. And the MOVEMENT! It's a lot different than a knife edge pleat. It has a lot more front to back movement as well as the usual side to side sway. Feels different as it brushes the legs also.

It is a bit unusual too with the left fastener (strap and buckle) on the inside of the kilt instead of the strap coming thru and buckling outside like most. Not uncomfortable at all, I didn't even notice the buckle once I had it on and fastened.

If anyone is considering one of Matt's Boxpleated Kilts and is hesitating about pulling the trigger...Don't!! This kilt is beautiful and as I told him when I emailed to let him know I got it, "I'll be ordering more".

    Mike
PS. I'll post some pictures as soon as I resolve the problems I'm having with sizing taken care of. If someone can help me out, pm me cuz I'm about at wits end.

Download Irfanview, it's free and makes image resizing easy.

That is a great review of Matt's fine craftsmanship, Mike.

I am pleased you have got yours because that means he'll probably be working on mine now!!

    Hamish,

Just finished stitching your pleats in before hitting the sack last night. :-) Still have to do all the interior construction stuff, but should have it ready by the end of the weekend, at any rate. That grey Harris tweed is really nice, I know you'll like it.

Thanks for the glowing review Mike!

I agree with Bubba, if you're stuck on a PC, Irfanview is the ticket for manipulating pictures. And it's free!
