The first few paragraphs, the author babbles smirkingly about skirts and purses. Big deal, another lazy journalist. Bleah.

The story probably tells us as much about the authors personal insecurities as it does about what happened.

To think... this author went to school to learn how to speak intelligently and probably went to college and took journalism classes and was taught to report with an "unbiased nature". Great job... you've done your alma matar proud you little prick. I hope that one guy takes a swat at you with his claymore.

sorry... I hate hypocritical scumbag reporters. they're nothing more than tabloid reporters.

    You are kidding aren't you?

Today there is no such thing as unbiased reporting.

The news media lives up to the old Soviet proverb about Tass (means "News") and Pravda (means "Truth") which says: There is no news in in TRUTH, and no truth in NEWS.

All the news media leans one way or the other. The majority of TV and radio news networks, and many of the largest papers give the news with a Left to Far Left slant. The rest give the news a Conservative to Radically Conservative slant.

If there was ever any such thing as an unbiased media, it is gone now and belongs to the Golden Days. But remember, in 1897 Joseph Pulitzer sent a reporter to Havana, Cuba to "cover the war." When the reporter arrived, he wired back, "No War here." Pulitzer replied, "Stay there, I'll provide the war." And thanks to his rabble rousing and yellow journalism, he did provide the Spanish-American War.

Well put Doc! If the news was unbias, it would be boring as hell. It would be something along the lines of
"Here are some people. They wear kilts. The End."

I think the last thing that I wrote completely free of a slant was in first grade... no, wait, I said I had the nicest parents in the whole world. Strike that. I dont think it is possible for people to write without adding any bias, nor for anyone to read something without making a judgement, even if the judgement is "how the hell did this person get to be a writer?" .

Would that old custom involve a fist applied to the kisser, i.e. mouth?

When I took Journalism classes in College, my professors told me that news should be reported with just the facts and should not use any adjective to describe the events.

    How wrong were they?

    kiss & keelie...

No doubt the "Glasgow kiss" would be administered by a "Glesca Keelie", or someone who sees a Saturday night brawl as a means of recreation?

The old Highland Light Infantry (HLI), stationed in Glesca at Maryhill Barracks, used to be known as the "Glesca Keelies".

    Cheers,

    Todd
