    Kilt Hose

Can anyone tell me where I could get some hose for large calves? I have some regular kilt hose and I can where them, but they are very tight.

    hose...

I usually recommend the Almost Unwearoutable Sock Company in Northumberland, England, but they're not cheap:

good supplier, what about color advice???

I would like some color in my hose - all I have now is oatmeal/off-white

    I have these tartans

    gordon modern
    hunting stewart
metro atlanta police, emerald society (black watch with red overcheck/stripe - kind of like armstrong, but the stripe is placed differently)

would a lovat blue or green be OK??

Should be ok, but since you do have modern tartans, I would also consider bottle green and navy blue... Especially with the Emerald Society tartan... Bottle green is what looks best with my Armstrong kilt. With my Lennox District tartan, off-white or oatmeal looks best. With the MacKenzie, either black or navy blue seems to work best, with lovat green (not olive green) coming in second best, usually with red flashes, if I want the Seaforth Highlanders look...

These socks are designed for athletes. Hence, larger calves.

Although I don't have large calves, I wear them most of the time. They stay up w/o garters. And, they machine wash.

Hey Big Paul, a fellow tree trunk leg man. Hmmm they fit your calves well huh? that is my problem, I can't get them over my calves without severe pain, and loss of circulation. I will have to check them out.

I have three words for ya... Like a glove!

Just measure around the largest part of your calf and how high you want the top (fold) of the hose and shoe size... It's that easy!!!
