Philabeg Apron Bottom?

In many of the pictures of the UK philabeg the bottom of the apron looks frayed. Do they only come that way? Can they be gotten with a hem across the bottom instead?

If I rememer right cousin, that's supposed to give it a "traditional" look.

Suppose you could ask Rocky about hemming yours...

So all Philabegs come like that? Or is it just the Highlander tartan kilt? I need to know cus' I ordered mine lik a week ago, and I rather it not frayed.

Hey bro chances are they haven't gotten to yours yet if you ordered it just a week ago. Give them a call at the shop and see what they can do for you.

Though I must point out... I have three USAK Philabegs with the frayed apron and I think it's quite handsome. I've worn them in semi-formal environments as well as the pubs and even just to the office every day. The only complaint I have has nothing to do with the tailoring, and that is that the poly-viscose is very flighty in the wind so I've had my modesty compromised a few times outdoors. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get a kilt pin to wear on the apron to weigh it down (something I've put off for too long).

99% of the material that make up our PV tartan has a "frayed" selvedge edge to it. We have 2 options... leave the frayed selvedge edge or hem it. Both have their advantages, but we decided to leave the frayed selvedge edge.

If you'd prefer your kilt to be hemmed for a clean bottom (if the tartan doesn't come with a kilting selvedge edge), email me or call me at the shop and I'll make a note on your order to hem that kilt. 610.650.8725

Ya know what...that's it....I've had enough...I've heard too many good things about Rocky and the folks at USA kilts. So to celebrate my release from the hospital I'm popping over and buying one right as soon as I post this....I'm beginning to suspect that my joining this forum is becoming one of the more expensive things I've ever gotten myself into.
