Should kilts be worn at weddings?

Of course they should, so now I have your attention I want to share some good news.

My 21 yo daughter, Abigail told me yesterday that she is marrying her boyfriend. This will be the first of my five kids to marry, the lad concerned is a fine lad, very gentle, well behaved, and he attends the same church as Abigail and has my approval.

So, I shall be giving away my daughter kilted next February, guess I'll have to get that jacket now Blu!!

    Here are the couple

She must take after her mother's looks. She has a full head of hair and no beard.

Congratulations on her taking after her mother, and on the upcoming wedding.

BTW, don't watch Father of the Bride, it will only make you crazier.

    Graham,

CONGRATULATIONS on being a future father-in-law!

A fine looking couple they are (like Doc said glad that she has her mothers good looks). I wish them both much happiness and joy throughout their life.

    Are we all invited?

    Congratulations!

But, more importantly - is HE going to wear a kilt in his wedding? Eh? Eh?

CONGRATULATIONS to the happy couple and both families, Graham! When the smoke clears, we'll no doubt be able to swap some good stories. And although I have the argyl jacket, I'm actually renting a P.C. for our daughters wedding as ours is a large formal affair. (We have people flying over from Italy to attend.) To give a sense of perspective, it is the eqivalent of approx. 40 fully hand made worsted wool traditionals. I hope things are a little bit more reasonable around your stomping grounds.

Thanks for all the well wishes,

Andrew, I will speak with the lad about being kilted, his surname is Byrne, I understand he can wear the Laois Irish County tartan
    http://www.clan.com/tartan_detail.html?tartan=1145

I may offer him a kilt for the wedding.

Blu, I believe they want a simple wedding, out in the forest somewhere. Their church meets in a building that is not especially attractive, so that sounds good. It will be informal, and it will be hot, so a jacket may not even be needed.

    yes, we must compare notes.

A very pretty lass, your daughter is, and it looks like she's picked a good fellow.

    Congratulations all around.

Many congratulations Graham, it would certainly be a coup if the groom wore a kilt.
