    What a Week!

Just a quick note to explain why I might not/will not be around for three weeks or so, not that anyone will miss me I imagine.

Firstly, this coming week is going to be manic, but huge fun, and I doubt I will have much time for lurking let alone reading/posting here.

Apart from anything else, I am meeting up with two of my greatest friends, but ones I have not previously met! On Wednesday, I am going to London to meet and greet our own Graham and his wife, Leslie. Lingering over a lunch and setting up the inevitable photo-shoot will be the order of the day.

Then, on Friday, coming here, to my home, is the renowned sporran-maker, David "Freelander" (with his family, but not including Sten Rune!). We're having a pub lunch which, unfortunately, we'll not be able to linger over for too long as, in the late afternoon, I am rushing up to London once again - but not until the photos have been taken!

The second visit to London? Oh, that is to collect a new kilt from Howie Nicholsby ("TFCK"), which I hope to take with me when, on Sunday morning, I fly to Vancouver for two weeks, for The Gathering. And just how many familiar names will Dave W. and I be meeting with over there, I wonder?

So yes, what an exciting week! No, just a moment - what an exciting three weeks!

    Take care,
    Ham.
(PS: If anyone needs to attract my attention before next weekend, please E-mail me at: lycrakilt@aol.com I am much more likely to pick that up than a posting or PM here. After next Saturday evening, I'll be incommunicado for just over two weeks. Thanks.)

    Ham,

    Wow what a week indeed!

I am sure that you will enjoy Graham and Leslie, both lovely people. It was a joy to meet up with them here, but it seems so long ago.

Getting to meet up with David and Eli and thier kids is something I am envious of. I certainly hope that you have a good time with them.

And Vancouver, just wish that I could be with everyone then but alas scheduling problems prevented that, I am sure that you will have a good time.

Now about that new kilt, CONGRATULATIONS!

Have a good and safe trip my friend.

No, no, no, Ron! I don't have a Lycra kilt (though it might be fun!) 'Lycrakilt' is the screen name I adopted when I first had a PC and came to the Internet. It encompassed two of my interests (at that time, anyway) - cycling and kilting. I seemed to spend all my free time in those days swathed in either Lycra or tartan - hence the name.

BC fish and chips? Hmmmn, I'm not so sure. I used to love F&C, but then I came to realise just how unhealthy it is (all that batter and all those chips) and so have not indulged for several years. I've recently been told that my cholesterol level is higher than it should be, and so things like that are absolutely to be avoided now! Still, perhaps just this once.......!

Okay...I get it. Thanks for that clarification. Did a lot of distance cycling in my youth too.

Hmmm, I thought fish and chips were a health food....guess I should look at that.

    Bon Voyage,

Thanks Glen. No doubt you will hear reports of The Gathering from others as it progresses - but I'll have a bundle of photos to bring home, and you know what that means!!
