An Easy Cure for the Kilt Jones

Duh Ron...I finally figured out an easy cure for the kilt jones. :-)

All ya gotta do is buy a LOT of kilts. Once you own a LOT of kilts there's so much you can do fiddling with what to wear, accessorizing, caring for them, etc. etc. et.al. that "waiting" for kilts to be delivered becomes tolerable.

Trouble is, if everyone runs out and buys a bunch more kilts then everyone's jones time is gonna go up with kiltmaker backlog...hmmm....maybe I gotta rethink this one...

Okay, buy a lot of kilts....wear them every day....buy more....buy more...buy more.....yes master......

Ron, forgive me for wrecking your financial life... But there is a simple solution.

Just buy so many kilts all at once that every couple of days you have one show up at your door. And keep buying. And buying. Soon, you are bound to run in to an overlap where you have a kilt showing up on your doorstep the same day you make an order for a new one.

You can learn to make kilts and do them whenever you have a wild hair. I'll hit the fabric stores and internet sources on a regular basis just to see what's out there. If the price is right... there's a new kilt. If the pattern's right... there's a new kilt. Then, it's fun to add-on pockets or anything else that my brain thinks of to make it original. After a while, there are so many original kilts that there's no need to spend mega-bucks to have a full wardrobe!

I'll always have my company-made kilts to off-set the originals... but the strain on the budget is nowhere near what it could have been.

If there's any "jonesing"... that's entirely up to my timetable!

I can vouch for the fact that having a large number of kilts does not put a stop to the 'jonesing' for those just ordered. Steve measured me for my first Freedom Kilt just three weeks ago, whilst I was in Victoria BC. Delivery is expected sometime in November (late October if I am very lucky)........... and I am jonesin' like mad!

I just KNOW I am, Ron. After much deliberation I chose the 'Casual' kilt in Charcoal poly-cotton, with two side slash pockets and one rear welt pocket carrying the logo in silver. The buttons are the filigree design.

Having that wonderful chance to spend time with Steve, to feel and check over his entire fabric range, see the embroidered logos in all their colours and to handle the button choices, made the selection process a real pleasure and it was, of course, much simpler than ordering on-line. Also, having seen Steve wearing his own kilts both in Victoria and in Vancouver, I know exactly the quality I will be getting.
