Thanks to the mods and the sane people here :)
Just wanted to say thanks for this site, the mods for keeping it up to par, and the mature people here.
I joined the Utilikilt yahoo group about 2 weeks ago, and am this close to unsubscribing.
So far, the list consists of:
People who obvioiusly know more than you.
People who know more than you, you *&!@%# idiot.
People who post completely out of the ballpark off-topic posts, then are yelled at by those who know more than them, for not using [OT] in the subject line.
Those who's opinions should be law, because you are an idiot.
Those who berate people for even thinking of owning something other than the allmighty UK.
Those who think they might have been criticized, so you are a *&!@%# idiot.
And a few sane people who are interested in talking about kilts.
So, once again, thanks for keeping this board open, open minded, and on topic for the most part.

For all the reasons you listed, Xmarks is the only forum I post on regularly. Add my thanks to the list.

Those are pretty much the reasons I unsubscribed and came over here. Here at X Marks you've got the full spectrum of kilts and wearers.Add my thanks to the list. I'm afraid the sane part leaves me out-I still wear pants half the time!

Unfortunately, a few of them come over here and do the exact same thing!
Fortunately, their posts are few and far between.
That's why I won't deal with anyone (except directly with the owner) when it comes to anything with UtiliKilts. Apparently, he's the one that really knows what's going on... and I respect his opinions, facts, and demeanor.

As somebody who's been "told off" a couple of times, I've got to say that I like it better this way. I think on some issues, they've come in too early but I've also seen other forums where these things have gone from bad to worse, to really ugly without anyone stepping in. I've also got to acknowledge that I've seen very few forums where the thread turns around on its own so it's probably best to assume the potential for disaster is greater than the opposite.
Okay, this works for me.
