Your thoughts men (and any present ladies)?

So I'm a member of this youth group, and I was thinking of getting a "Habo Kilt" made (Habonim Dror is the name of the movement). The colours would likely be, a fairl bright blue (see Steve's royal blue at FK) with red highlights (ie: button closure, pocket trim, possibly stitching, and and embroidered movement logo on the front apron). Basically I'm wondering if y'all think it might be a tad... well, bright on the eyes, our movement shirts is what I'm basing it off of... but less of a shirt. Either way, I'm excited, it's that or a USAK for grad methinks!

    My gut reaction...
I would have the kilt done in a solid but complimentary color (even dark grey or black perhaps) and keep the shirt as is. Let the shirt make the statement as intended. Don't worry, the kilt will stand on its own quite nicely regardless and in the end be more versatile.

    Just a thought.

I agree- maybe a dark blue or 'Israel blue' kilt?

Or you could make it out of this fabric:

    Yes, that is a fabric.

sounds scary, but who am I...
    post a picture.

I'm finding that most kids seem really cool with kilts, down with, up for...whatever. Mentioned before that this past May had chance to meet up with all nephews from across NA, most intense conversation with all was the serious jonesing after I showed them the Sportkilt site. And they seem to like the relaxed look better than some of the members of this forum, ahem, cough, cough.

    Mikhael,

Know this is different, but it might help you get a sense of the color contrasts. Jeff at Pittsburgh Kilts sewed up this tri-color kilt for me - to represent the Arizona State Flag. Royal blue with red and yellow alternating pleat inserts. It is bright, but here in Arizona everyone recognizes it for what it is meant to be. The flag patches help convey that impression as I'm sure your movememt embroidery would. Guessing you'd be wearing it around them and they'd "get it" immediately.

Don't know if I got the image thingies right, if not check the first page of my gallery.
