I LOVE 'Em!! J'Dez Underkilts
Wow! Men, THIS is what we've been talking about on various threads for a LONG time. The J'Dez people did it.
http://www.jdez.com/men/underkilt/
Just got three of them in. Bought the black ones. I'd been wearing my blue denim Utilikilt regimental this morning. Picked the underkilts up at the post office around noon. Put one on at home at lunch. What a difference. Suddenly the denim isn't denim against my skin its soft organic cotton against my skin.
What they did was take organic cotton t-shirt type material sew it together (there's a serged seam down each outside leg area) and put elastic like on jockey shorts around the waist.
This works! I remember some of you guys worried about a "skirty" look...with this comfort WHO CARES!!??
I'm already wearing them just to knock around in at home.
Only downsides I can see so far...the wait...took a couple weeks longer than originally expected, but we're all used to jonesing. Woulda been faster if I'd stayed with the white. They send the black out to be died.
No good alone if you're gonna sit down...your package is gonna show, they're meant for comfort and sanitation rather than modesty.
I'm used to my narrow UK apron dropping between my knees when I sit. With the underkilt the narrow UK apron is kinda held up a bit like with a large apron kilt. Not a hard adjustment.
I like these things. They are well made. No scrimping on quality.
Have a pic on page 6 of my gallery. My first effort at self-portrait and I'm glaring at the camera wondering if it will work right and my massive belly has lapped over the top of the underkilt...and its black....so in the pic it looks like a black miniskirt...
But the key to this deal is the COMFORT...the looks are hidden from the world under the kilt. Hiking in a UK workman's should take on a new level of comfort with an underkilt. I'm gonna feel better about going regimental in my expensive hand sewn traditional kilts from Kathy Lare.
Guys, this is what we've been looking for. No shill here, just one happy camper.

Huh. Cool. My husband was just asking me to find out if something like this even existed. I'll have to tell him to come by and read your post.

Looks like a good idea, of course, it's nothing new. All the ladies know about such things, but something designed for men - that's good.

Saw these earlier in the L-O-N-G discussion that pretty much dissed them.
I figure: what the hell...this is pretty much freestyle anyway...and there doesn't seem to be much benefit in being uncomfortable so wear what you like.
But honestly...some of the participants really trashed the concept of these underkilts in that previous thread. Apparently if "Live free or die" is the motto of New Hampshire, "Hang loose or die" would be the motto of not a few of the Xmarks members!
But it seems to work pretty well from what you're saying here, so let's not count them out as a useful accessory!

Ron,
Trend setting again? Looks good and thanks for being brave enough to order these, and let us know you were ordering, and give them a true review. Like others, I was somewhat put off by the "slip-like" pictures in the prior thread, but also could see the value, especially with a trad kilt.
A quick question though, where does the underkilt fall in relation to the kilt? It looks liks quite high enough to avoid one issue mentioned, which was comments regarding "your slip is showing". Not to get too personal, but does your normal "go to the office" attire allow/support regimental, or have you been going with the keep it modest approach? And if keeping it modest, would you change to the underkilt in that situation? Just curious because I enjoy regimental, but am concerned in the office. I was wondering if this might offer a nice alternative.

Boy, now I'm confused...even double checked the J'Dez website. They call the garment they offer an "underkilt"....don't see it called a kilt anywhere.
Calling underpants underpants doesn't make them pants.
Calling underkilts underkilts doesn't make them kilts.
Someone help me out here where does J'Dez refer to the product they call underkilts as kilts?

First, nobody has offended me. Not even JDEZ.
My concern is for this site. I honestly don't give a rat's what you guys wear under your kilts.
Ignore my comments. People seem to think I rant for no reason. Nobody listened to a whole bunch of us at Tom's when we tried to keep that site at least half kilts. Now look at Tom's.
Tom's wasn't all that different from this site. When the Atrium went tranny, Tom's was swamped with skirters and they abused the kilters right out of the place. You couldn't say kilt without someone giving you crap for not calling it a skirt.
If you think this place is somehow invulnerable, you're wrong.

I hear you Bear. I've watched the UK kilt board degenerate into a debating society about meaningless issues unrelated to kilts.
Just having trouble figuring how cutting the crotch out of jocky shorts to make an underkilt in the same way UK's Steve cut the crotch out of his jeans to make a Utillikilt is gonna lead to the downfall of this board.
For what its worth, anyone who wanted to wear an underkilt as a skirt would be arrested for indecent exposure the first time they sat down or bent over. The garments are designed as a type of underwear. They fail completely as outerwear.

Thanks for that clarification Bob.
Did I miss something? Thought J'Dez was just telling us about the underkilt.
Kinda looks like that Spartan thing from Utilikilts that they call a "Spartan Utilikilt....only a bit shorter.
But hey, I ain't scared. If cross dressers and gender benders have the ability to destroy this board then there weren't much here worth saving.
My sense is the foundation of this board is strongly rooted and can withstand the various insanities that drift in from time to time...as it has before, and will again.
The strength of this board is in the members. The strength of the members is in this board.
Bring on the skirted hordes of girlie men...let us to war!
Bear, you're point!
