    Marton Mills Tartan

Just received my 7 meters of fabric (each) from Marton Mills in England. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. The only thing is I HATE THE IDEA OF CUTTING IT!!!

I consider the prices reasonable, especially here in the Texas wastland of "We have a nice plad in fleece you could use." <AAAHHHHhhhh...>

While 1 order does not represent a full reference the e-mails back and forth were quickly responded to and when I called to do the CCard thing (one draw back is NO order page or any secure transaction ordering off their web site) They were very responsive and answered any questions.

The order took 3 weeks (3 days of that for the post office to find the package!) to reach me very well protected.

This is a poly-viscous called WARRIOR.

And the TEXAS BLUEBONNET is a 'glamis' 10.5oz wool.

The also have some sample swatches and literature available for the asking.

I delt with Shelly (Shell) in sales so if you interested check them out.

They both look nice, but I like the warrior the best, how heavy is it? And were the prices reasonable?

If you don't mind me asking, what do their prices come out to?

    Richard,

Both lovely looking tartans! Knowing you they will come out well, and a great addition for your kilt wearing pleasure.

    Prices

The weight on the Texas Bluebonnet wool is 10.5oz and about £8.75 per meter.

The PV WARRIOR is 11oz and about £4.50 per meter.

I ordered 7 meters of each so I had to do some math on the final to work out the prices. If you go to their site you can look at weight and tartans. They also carry some Irish tartans. There is not a price list on the site but if you are interested send them a list of what you are interested in and they will give you a quote.

The literature I got said allow 6 weeks for special orders but I consider 2/12 weeks good. They also will do special shipments (like next day) but regular post works for me.

Also, here is my favorite currency convertor if you want to do the conversions on money.
