how other fashionable males view about kilts
I was looking at some fashion forums and this thread comes up:

I don't really care much about what these people say, but this is the reality and how people view kilts in general. I respect their opinions.

They do have interesting thoughts. It seems as if they are a wee bit uninformed as to kilt wearing. Somewhat steroetypical in their thinking methinks. But it is what they think, and with that I feel that I will move on, happily kilted.

At least some of the later responses correctly identified that the only connection between being gay and being kilted is in bigoted minds (and the occassional gay wearer).

They are certainly uninformed (at least most.) My favorite comment had to be this one: "there is something very odd about them, but i have to admit i wouldnt get into a fight with a guy wearing one...." It seems the warrior ancestry precedes us!

I find it funny and irritable at the same time that this bunch of "stylish" guys make such presumptions about kilt wearers, but then again it comes from a bunch of kids who are not even confident enough to be themselves and have to dress like everyone else and plug their eyebrows trying to fit in.

I almost joined the group so I could reply to that thread and then I realized...
What's the point?

I really couldn't care less what "fashionable" men think of anything. They tend to be vacuous nits with their taste in their feet.

I really had a good laugh at many of the incredibly stupid comments posted there. Wasn't surprised though. While there was a couple of posts trying to put a bit of common sense into the thread, the rest was pretty silly. From what I can see, this website represents a good cross section of typical insecure male pattern thinking. All I can say is... Ignorance is bliss!

Toward the end of that thread a few kilt wearing guys posted up and tried to educate the others. Not too many negative posts after the former employee of Utilikilts started posting. Then, there was another guy, with only 1 post, who had quite a lot to say about how to wear a kilt.
But, I do chuckle at those types of guys over there. I know guys like that, who spend more time in front of their closets trying to decide what to wear and how to wear it, than most women do. I can't see spending more than $12 for a t-shirt, myself, and Levi Strauss is the only "designer" of blue jeans that I'm interested in.

Thanks for the link Raphael.
I don't think that this site reflects a major portion of society, hell, I don't think anything reflects a major portion of society. It keeps changing due to winds blowing in multiple directions. Reality is a moving target that changes with the seasons.
Secondly, I have not run into anyone who reflects their viewpoints. Besides, I donned the kilt to break the rules of fashion. These guys are the self-designated fashion police.
I wear a kilt to please myself AND respect their right to wear what they want for whatever reason. Live and let live (kilted, of course!) Like Steven Villeagas says, it's about freedom.
