    Another call to Hamish...

    OK Ham,

Since you have made a decree on Derek's hose color, shoe coordination question with pictures, I have a fashion question for you, and you have to visualize it for the answer! BTW, the answer will be used to impress everyone at the company holiday party on this Friday at 7:00PM Central standard time, so you are actually working under a deadline as well!

Anyway, I have 2 kilts that I think would be appropriate for a semi-formal affair, my semi-trad Blackwatch from Rocky at USA Kilts, and my Scottish National purchased off of eBay, that is a heavy weight fabric, heavier than the USAK.

Now, I have bottle green, navy blue, maroon, merlot, black, white (from SK), red, and olive green hose (but no oatmeal) . I have bottle green, navy blue, maroon, and red flashes. And I have a white dress shirt and black Argyll jacket. So, what ensemble do I put together for a semi-formal, festive, company, holiday party?

I was thinking of 2 approaches, the BlackWatch with white dress shirt, Xmas tie with primarily maroon color, navy blue hose, and maroon flashes to match the tie.

Or, for a more festive and bright look, the Scottish National with white dress shirt, possibly red tie, red hose, and bottle green flashes.

Both would be worn with my nicer black, tasseled sporran with a chain, and a formal, blakc, kilt belt with a large, square, shiny, chrome buckle.

Anyway, all advice accepted (from anyone), and the winning outfit will have pictures posted.

BTW, all of the ladies at work are positively a-twitter to see what I wear to this event, so the standards are high.

Yeah, maybe committing to pictures based on the everyone's consensus of an outfit was a little short-sighted....

That reminds me too much of some of the Mrs. Claus outfits I've seen.

May be it is just me, I would wear the Cream colour Hose as they are more appropaite for going to an evening event.

Eventhough you are going to a Christmas party, but a solid colour tie would look better with the kilt and the jacket. You can always wear a Santa Claus pin on your lapel to show your holiday spirit.
