    okay i was wondering if anyone hear knows the braid type that crafty celts uses on their torcs
    such as

    I don't think it's a braid, I think it's just a double twist. (three pairs of twisted wires twisted around each other.)

    Yep, it's a fairly simple technique. but since it's Crafty Celts, I wonder if they did the twisting with wax and then cast it?

    A cast torc would be a bitch to put on; cast metal doesn't bend much.

    Ask your local Boy Scout Troop if they have a rope making machine. I have a feeling that once you see it in operation and the finished product you will understand it much more gooder. What you are picturing looks much more like a twist not a braid.

    I work mostly with steel, so I'm not sure how cast bronze works as far as resiliency. Casy iron or steel sure wouldn't work!

    But on the other hand, here's a hand forged torc. Doesn't really bend at all, either, so you need a bigger opening.
