    I'm posting another Picture

This was taken at my 4th grade son's Medieval Feast. The 4th graders studied the middle ages for a couple of months, and then celebrate with this activity. The principal was dressed as a King and the vice principal was his sister. They get parent volunteers to serve food and do entertainment. I helped with the music end of things.

The kids have to dress in costume as do the parent volunteers. OK, I realize this is a costume, but it still was another chance to wear a kilt. This is my great kilt I used when I was performing at our local Renaissance Festival. I still haven't been able to identify this tartan. Does anyone have a clue?

    Smile The future of kilts

I believe that children should be use to seeing men in kilts. In my neighborhood a 12-year-old girl asked many questions the first time she saw me in a kilt. The department's secretary's grandson learned about kilts after seeing me hiking in one. The future of kilts lies with the young and their familiarity with men in kilts.

All the neighborhood kids know me, especially because I go out in my power chair to walk the dog and they love to play with my doggie. And their parents are all our friends. A couple of the parents have told me that their sons (ranging from 5th graders to high school kids) have asked if they can get a kilt too!

My favorite response was from a parent who actually went looking for one as a Christmas present for her young son (6th grade). After seeing the prices she told him that he'd have to wait until he was done growing. A kilt was too expensive to buy every year when he outgrew it!

I didn't think that SWK made kilts that small. This little guy is only about 4 feet tall.

Tom, I bet the kids really enjoyed all the costumes.

Phillip, there is a lot of growth room built into boys' kilts. They have hems for letting out, so they last longer than a parent might first think. But at her boy's age, she might be letting out that hem at a pretty good pace.

    Yes they are.

I had them made about 12 years ago - when I was still single.
