Kilted Meeting For Next August?
Hey guys, I was yesterday chatting with Ackwell through messenger and we noticed that we're going to be on the same time in Scotland next August. My first plans were going back again to Glasgow next easter, and spread around to see Loch Lommond, Paisley (william Wallace was born there) Stirling, "Embra", etc,.. but Ackwell suggested he was going up north in August, in order to visit Islay, Inverness, etc,... So it came to my mind two names: Laphroaigh and Culloden.
It was easy to change my plans and look for a ten days trip in the first half of August instead of a four days one in April. That's the advantage of travelling as a backpacker, plans are sooo flexible!...in fact there are not plans at all!
After a nice chat about reindeer haggis, classic funny absurd films, swedish-finnish traditional music bands, etc,... we both agreed that it would be nice to meet many Xmarkers there. We think that there are many of you who will enjoy august holidays, so we can consider the chance to meet there during the first half of August. Kilted holidays!!
Not an organised trip, I think (we all have our own interests and want to see different things) but just to plan our trips there for the same dates and have the chance to meet all toghether for a day or two,... or three, or four,... who knows!
Ok people, leave ur opinions here, ok?
¡Salud!

There's a B&B near Loch Lommond featured at the Freelander sporrans webpage, called The Fiddler, with availability for groups up to twelve people, with a nice malts selection!
Look for it at: http://home.c2i.net/kilted_1/public_html/main.html at the Scotland 2005 section. It's a nice trip description, and also includes the reference to that place: http://www.fiddledrum.co.uk/ and a nice menu as well,... it can be a meeting point?
¡Salud!

Provided the actual dates are confirmed fairly soon, I could be counted in for attendance as well. However, I am not up for any huntin', shootin' or fishin'!

Wouldn't expect you to Hamish!
I just figured we would probably all have different interests after the initial day or so, or maybe even several of us could strike out together for a day or two.
Shooting is my thing, and I would love to do some in Scotland.
