Order a kilt - but where?

As a first-timer, I am inclined to go for one of the packages advertised - semi formal, as I will also be wearing the kilt on occasions when my wife would wear her Norwegian national costume to events as weddings, christenings, cionstitution day (and any other excuse).

I see there are numerous internet shops, but I would like to stick with the British Isles. Do any of you have experiences with companies/shops in form of "shop there" or "be warned"?

I am looking for good quality, so price isn't the biggest issue.

    All help welcomed - thanks

I ordered an argyle tweed jacket and waistcoat, as well as an 8 yard 16 oz wool kilt from www.scottishkilts.net

My experiences with them were all outstanding and the product was more than I could have hoped for. They have some of the best prices on the internet. They sell each item seperately as well as complete outfits.

I researched several other companies prior to ordering my kilt and my jacket, and found that overall Scottishkilts was the best option.

David McSweeney was always extremely helpful and answered all of my questions.

A very close friend is getting married soon and I will be recommending them to all the other groomsmen.

Have a good look at www.scottishkilts.net as they will be able to take care of all your needs.

Kiltstore, advertised at the top of the page, has worked well for me.

I have also received good service from Scottishkilts.net.

I'm in the process of getting 2 kilts made by Rocky at USA Kilts and so far I'm really pleased with the excellent communication.

I've also bought from Hector Russel (from their store in San Francisco) both in person and by phone and have been blown away by their quality and customer service. Now if only they weren't so expensive.
