Possible Flashes?
The price seems ok - especially the shipping. They also have double loop flashes.

I can see one problem with them - Velcro closures. Those things can do truly horrible things to your socks.

Velcro closures are ok as long as the hook face isn't exposed to the sock. I made some a couple of years ago with a small hook patch that overlapped a larger loop patch for adjustment. Worked well... no damage.

I agree, i have had the same set of flashings for over 4 years now and they have not destroyed my kilt hose. They are much easier on the legs in my opinion than the metal hooks.

Really, just go to the fabric store and pick up some elastic and some ribbon and make your own flashes. As a sewing project it's one step up from sewing on a button. Mine just have a loop of elastic with no velcro or hooks. They are easier to put on and do the job. You can take your kilt along and pick out the ribbon that's the best match. Skip the whole ebay, credit card, jonesing experience.

I just looked at the velcro pair I own and I see that this is precisely the problem. Whoever made them (since I purchased them on eBay) sewed them so that the hook patch faces the sock.

Assuming you fold your sock top over your flashes, it will ALWAYS be be facing some part of your sock, no matter which way it was made.
