I was reading some old posts and you mentioned fixing some of the "downfalls" of the sportkilt. Would you still be interested in doing this for me I would love to have these modifications made by someone who "understands" rather than just a seamstress. I am planning on a new kilt soon but I will keep this one as a back up and for mhighland game use, but I would like it to be fixed if possible.

John, where is Crawfordville, FL anyway?
Oh well, Jimmy may not respond to quickly, he has many irons in the fire, however, the major downfall, besides the velcro, is the fact that that the pleats are not sewn down. The rest of the problems are because of not sewing down the underaprin hem, which can be accomplished with stitch witch or other products.
Anyway, welcome and wear that kilt!

Some time back Jimmy was modifying SportKilts. Think that ended over a year ago.
But hey, if he's doing it again he'd have two of mine in a heartbeat!

Sportkilt now offers some of the modifications as an option when you buy. I'm not sure whether they would consider altering a previously sold kilt or not, but you could try I guess.

Already asked them if I could send my two gathered SportKilts back and have them redone to sewn down pleats, proper length, belt loops. They were not interested.
Don't think they're set up to do anything but sew from scratch. That they made the changes to offer sewn down pleats, belt loops, and custom length is wonderful...just wish I'd held off on buying the two gathered SportKilts.
