    New Sport Kilt arrived today

It seems these are loved or despised here at Xmarks but no matter: I received my first Sport Kilt today and it looks pretty good (for what it's intended to be). Here are a couple of pics (front and back):

I wanted something light-weight to knock around the house in and this seems to fit the bill perfectly. It’s an “All Ireland Green” Sport Kilt* with right-side fringe, sewn-down pleats, belt loops and a custom 24” drop-length.

I haven’t had the chance to really wear the kilt yet because I decided to wash it (as per Seamus’s instructions) and let it dry flat before putting it back on (there was a minor crease in the front from the kilt being folded for shipping). As soon as the kilt dries and gets ironed lightly, I’ll post some better pics.

*As per my request, Seamus did not attach the Sport Kilt patch.

I thought this was commonly known here at Xmarks...either way, Iñaki's correct. When I initially tried on the kilt, I didn't even notice the elastic in the waist; my belt will cover that part of the kilt. And if you're looking that closely at me in my kilt, you'd better be polite...and at least buy me a .

I guess they have quit sewing their logo patch on as well. I have seen a few of these at highland game competions and they look a lot better than the old style. I have an older version and it is good for fieldwork at the games but I am ready for a more "real" kilt for the after the games parties.

    Love the tartan.
The jury is still out in my mind about sportkilts. Still trying to keep on open mind.

I think it may be a case of "evolve or die" for Sportkilts...lots of stuff available in that price range or slightly above that looks like a better deal. Looks like they're trying to keep their same basic idea going but trying to improve the product enough that they'll stay competitive.

I can't attest to that, but I requested the kilt without a patch and Seamus obliged without reserve. Nice to see that kind of customer service; my experience with Sport Kilt was professional and pleasant.

Sounds like good customer service. I think it looks pretty good on the ground but I can't wait to see it on you. I've been interested in the some of the more unusual pattern fabrics they offer, mostly for what you suggested, very casual wear, around the house and such.

    Thanks for posting the pics.
