    Kilted last night

So I went out last night in my new Mercy kilt in the Royal Stewart tartan. It was a little too light to handle the quick whipping winds through my neighborhood but it was still comfortable.

I passed by people all bundled up freezing to death and I'm walking by as if I'm the warmest peson in the world. One group of teenagers stared at me in disbelief and one guy said, "Dude...it's cold!"

    "Not for me," I responded.

I got on the subway and made my way into midtown and got more than a few compliments on my kilt but more questions about, "Aren't you cold in that?"

Truth be told, I was a little cold. It wasn't a heavy kilt but I wasn't freezing my butt off. On the good side, even with all of the wind, the kilt really didn't fly up and stayed in place. All in all a good night and lots of fun....the looks that I got were great...

    Yep!

I live on the wind swept shores of the North Sea...it's around freezing, but the wind chill factor can make it pretty nasty.

Wearing a 13 or 16 oz kilt...it's nice and warm though, but people look at me as if I'm walking around naked on the North Pole

My standard response to the "aren't you cold" question is "No. It's not cold, it's invigorating!"

When people ask me if I am cold, I tell them "yes my nose is very cold"!

Kilts are designed very well to stay put. Just love seeing people "freezing" in a Kilt.

All the same, where you are at this time of year I would want a 16oz woollen kilt with thick hose.
    You're a braveheart indeed!
