Kilt in Huntsville Traditional Music Association Newsletter

I hope this counts as media. I sure am proud of it! A fellow in a kilt is seen on page four of the Feb. 2006 Huntsville Traditional Music Association newsletter:

Actually, that fellow is me. A few of me mates and I opened at a concert for the folk group Wild Carrot. The interesting thing is that more people were there to see us than the folk goup. I played tenor banjo (pictured), five-string banjo, and smallpipes that evening.

The BISCOTTI Boys? I've been in some bands with some *interesting* names but The Biscotti Boys? Did you do a focus group to try that out? ...I know all the really cool names like Black Sabbath and Def Lepard have been taken...all I can say is that thank god that you weren't eating Fig Newtons that day.

Hey...this would be a great place to ask for suggestions for a REALLY GROOVY name...I mean, where else are you going to find such devious...I mean...brilliant minds but at Xmarks? Not that you need our advice...although I just can't see "Biscotti Boys" on a t-shirt...I did end up playing in a band that was called "Mustard" because we were all from other groups and were just showing up to jam and the club owner asked for the group's name and the lead guitarist was eating a hot dog at the time...so I can see how stuff can happen.

Maybe I'm wrong, though...when those English guys asked me how I liked their act and I told them that it was going to go over like a lead zeppelin it didn't seem to mak much difference...

...seriously, though...which smallpipes do you have? I'm getting interested in picking up a set and am looking at the kitchen pipes with the Dunbar chanter from hotpipes...
