    Highschoolers at college

I work at the college bookstore, which is located in the University Center. The UC also has the campus diner. When highschool groups come to NMU, they often stop at the Den, and afterward come to the Bookstore to kill time (we also have large clothing, gifts, and office supplies departments).

When we get these sudden influxes, several employees walk the floor. There's usually a couple on the floor anyway, but a few more go out to not only help with customer service, but also make sure no one's shoplifting.

This happened today and last week, both times I was kilted. The first time, when I went out on the floor (I work in the back), a kid said "Dude, I love your kilt!", and I then saw him shortly after telling his fellow students that there was "a guy in a kilt."

Today, no direct comments, though I did see some boys pointing and sniggering, and some looks from others. I would have asked the boys if I could help them find anything, but they stayed mostly in the front half, and I was watching the rear half.

    I Was in on Friday

I was in the bookstore on Friday, late afternoon, but didn't see you, but I didn't ask either. I was looking for soccer socks that might work for kilt socks. We do have to plan a spring get together for the kilted folks in our area. Do you ever see any other kilted guys at NMU?

I don't work late on Fridays, I try to get in extra studio time.

Someone told me one of the janitors at the Hedgecock building was wearing a kilt, and one of the cashiers at the bookstore told me she saw a guy come in in a kilt. There's also a guy at the library who wears one rarely. There are a couple other guys I know with kilts, but they don't wear them often. That's all I know of. From what I've seen, I'm the only guy on campus who wears a kilt regularly.
