Does your St. Pats day?
Hi all,
When is St. Patricks day in your part of the world?
In Utah it is this Sat...

Unless those Irish want to start early
I'm going but I have to drive home (allmost an Hour) so I will have to count my intake and not be over the limit.

Do you mean parade? St. Patrick's day is the same day everywhere, the 17th of March.
Ou parade is part of the annual week long Celticfest http://www.celticfestvancouver.com/ and the parade falls on the 19th this year. I will be out in full force on the 17th. St. Paddy's on a Friday!?! I wonder if it will be busy in the pubs

Is this like the "do they have the Fourth of July in England?" riddle?
Okay...in Chicago the parade will be held on March 11. They crowned the official St. Pat's Day queen, Miss Kelly Green (I am not kidding on this...nice to know that there are still parents out there with a sense of humor, isn't it?), back in February. The Chicago River will be dyed green on the morning of the parade by a select band of members of the Plumbers' Union...this is a real crowd pleaser, I assure you. The parade will kick off at noon...let's hope for good weather...not only would I hate to see all those pipers and dancers get wet, I'd also hate to deprive the TV announcer of his annual chance to say..."...and you can see by the bright, warm, sunny weather that God has a soft spot in his heart for the Irish...".
The South Side Irish Parade will happen the next day, the 12th, down here on the...uh...South Side. Yes, this town is SO Irish that one parade just isn't enough. Hey...it's an election year...these politicos will be turning up for the St, Pat's Parade (both of them), the Croatian Day Parade, the German Day Parade, Cinco de Mayo....Chicago...the city of immigrants...if you're a parade float company here, you got it made.
Don't know if the kids in the Catholic School system will get March 17th off...they usually do give them the day because so many of them go to the parade...but the parade's on the Saturday before, so who knows.
Erin go bra-less!

My favorite Quote from the Fugitive - Regarding St. Patricks Day in Chicago.
Marshal Biggs: If they can dye the river green today, why can't they dye it blue the other 364 days of the year?
Interesting thought!

We will be participating in a parade on the 11th. Most of the parades in the area on on that date. We will be in Indiana, PA where on that exact date in history, not a damn thing happened

The one here in Denver is the 11th of March (Saturday). It is always the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day unless of course it is on the same day. As always I will be watching it in front of the Celtic Tavern with some of my trousered friends, oh to get them into Kilts.

Next friday ( 17th ) at Arnies Bar in Tulsa. Consider yourself lucky if you can see the bar ( the building the bar is in, not the actual bar ) from where you wind up stopping as you tryto approach.
Roads are blocked of most years.

Here in Las Vegas the Sons of Erin organize the parade. The block party is in the parking lot of the Joker's Wild Casino this year. 4pm to midnight Thurs and Fri, 11am to Midnight Sat & Sunday. Dinner Dance Thursday night, parade on Water Street (Henderson's main street) 11 AM Saturday.
I'm planning to wear my Grant Hunting (aka Blackwatch) kilt with forest green hose to work on the 17th. (And to the block party, goes without saying; not that I'll be there all night every night, I'm not up to that any more.)
