    Smile Greetings from Germany

    Hello Everyone.

I'm a newbie to your community and this is my first post.
I've been reading your threads for the last few weeks and have learned a lot about kilts and the men who wear them. Thanks for letting me join in.

I'm an engineer working for the US Army in Germany. I take care of the community facilities that support our Soldiers and their families. Great people doing a hard job.

I got my first kilt about a year ago. Eight yard tank in Clan Hay tartan. I love it! I have worn it over here twice to Church and at an informal function at a local restaurant. Very positive feedback from everyone, including my German friends and colleagues. I'm working now on the accessories.

    Tom

    Welcome aboard, A Hay!

I hear Germany is very nice. I hope to get there someday and look up the village my family came from - Ebingen, near Wuurtemburg.

Congrats on the tank. I'm hoping for one this year myself.

Another Hays on the list; we're taking over now.
If they outlaw guns, can we go back to using swords?

Welcome to our forum. I was glad to see that you are an American working in Germany. Not because I have anything against our German brothers, but because I was considering embarrassing myself bu trying to use a little of my college German to say welcome. Since it has been 40 or more years since I managed a "B" in the subject, it probably would have been undecipherable.

I'm coming to Lieritzhofen in June. Are there any kilt-friendly bars around the Nurnburg area?

    Gruss Gott!
