Camo Sporrans
Hey Guys,
I saw something and wanted to know what the general feedback would be.
Camo Sporrans... (If someone can post a pic of the sporran in this thread, please email me at rocky@usakilts.com and I'll send you the pic)
What is the MOST you would pay for a Camo Sporran (leather) with the straps/chain? I'm trying to see if it's worth getting a few in. Please keep in mind that most standard black leather day sporrans (from Scotland) cost about $80 to $120 retail.
Does this sporran entice you AK/UK/FK/RK/PK wearers?

Are these available in other camo (MarPat, U.S. Woodland, Desert...)?

that pattern appears to be the DPM pattern from UK. The colors are similar to US woodland but the pattern is quite different.
If you are looking for US desert make sure it is the current Desert pattern not the old chocolate chip pattern.

being that my sporran is where I keep my flask, I don't think hiding it would do me any good! with my luck, I would lose my sporran without taking it off!
otherwise, that is a good looking sporran. How about doing something with the head of the button so someone can attach a metalic emblem of their particular branch of service? Would look really cool with a Marine's eagle on it, although I would let the purchaser decide what to affix to it.

Hey Hamish,
That's the ONE! I see you have the matching kilt! It looks great!
The Sporran is ONLY MADE in 1 camo. Yes, it is a British Camo, as the sporran (and matching kilt) is made in the UK (Glasgow to be precise). The wholesaler only has 1 pattern of camo and that's all he really wants, so I would only have access to the 1 pattern. No other pattern or no other options (no button with your branch of service... although a good idea).
That being said, would you wear this sporran with a solid kilt or with a non-matching camo or (shield your eyes, Hamish) with a tartan? Again... how much would you pay for such a sporran?
Thanks to Colin for posting the pic.

Hi Rocky,
Here is that self-same sporran in use! I personally think it goes perfectly with the kilt (both from KiltStore.net) and I frequently wear them. However, it does look odd with any other kilt and would look pretty grim worn with a kilt in another camouflage design.
As for the price: the sporran sells over here in the UK for about £65 (US$113).
(PS: the photo was taken the day the sporran arrived. I subsequently got rid of the destructive chain and replaced it with an all-leather strap!!)
