I found this at the kiltstore. While it's not the Xmarks pin, it could serve as one.
Nice looking pin, but frankly I must confess I don't know how to use one. Does it hold the front and under aprons together or just acts as a weight on the lower part of the front apron? Doesn't all that pinning and unpinning eventually wear on the fabric of the kilt?
Thanks,

The advice here is to NEVER pin the aprons together as this could cause tearing if it caught on something. The pin is primarily decoration and maybe a little weight. The best advice on unpinning is to have a different pin for each kilt and to only remove it when you need to clean the kilt.

I only attach it to the front apron and then I don't remove it unless I am having the kilt cleaned. I have a kilt pin for each kilt. It does add a little weight to hold the front apron in place.
