Capes
Allrighty then. Is there an interest amongst you guys in an Inverness-style cape, 100% heavyweight wool, lined? What colours would you like to see and, most importantly, what would you be willing to pay? Most are anywhere between about $500-$1000.
Would something in the $300 range interest folks?

Yes.
I'd bet on black, brown, gray, Lovat blue and Lovat green being popular, but brown and gray would probably be the best sellers.

Charcoal, $300. You'd have a sale here.

If you're putting out a quality product at a significant price savings, I'll bet you get a LOT of interest.

Ditto: but I'd need a week or two to set aside the money.
Bryan...then I'd have to wait for cooler weather, to wear it...

I have some swatches on the way. Both 14 and 21oz meltons. Colour choices are excellent, although obviously darker colours would be more popular.
I've been at the hospital with a buddy over the past couple of days, has to have both feet removed (diabetic, never took care of his feet!). Haven't gone near the site, but I'm doing some work on it now.
There is much less work in putting a cape together, so there is no reason for the exhorbitant prices out there. Even at $300, there is adequate profit.

I've never been able to figure out why nylon Inverness capes cost over $75.
Or why the exact same sporran, from exactly the same manufacturer, has more than 400% variation in price (from $50 to over $200) depending on the vendor.
If you can provide a charcoal wool Inverness for $300, I'd buy one.
