Heads Up Texas...
Hey All… just thought I’d give a heads up: the 20th anniversary of the Texas Scottish Festival & Highland Games is coming up. June 2-4th in Arlington (Dallas/FTW).
I plan on being there Saturday the 3rd to watch some sport, listen to some great music, visit with some folks, and do whatever I want... Kilted of course.
Hope to see my fellow X Marks Texans there.

I've got relatives in Lancaster, this is a good excuse to go visit them.

Aye, some of us Oklahoma City throwers will be attending this one. I know two of us have gotten our entry forms off so far.

Thanks. Do you compete in the Games? I know Tulsa has a fairly good turn out each year.

There are probably some others as well ... I'm thinking of entering the Tulsa games this fall in piping, but I'm not sure yet. I haven't ever competed before, and I'm afraid of making a fool of myself by not knowing the etiquette.

You should give it a try. Competition can be stressful and nerve-wracking, but it will help motivate you to improve your playing and help get you used to playing in frot of people. You'll also have the opportunity to meet a lot of other pipers. There's not much you need to know. Email me and I'll answer any questions you have about it or get the answers from somebody. If you're in a band up there you should be able to find people who compete solo to talk to.
