Award-winning kilted genius!
Well, this may be old news, but I did a search in Xmarks and did not find it:
This is geneticist Professor Howard Trevor Jacobs, accepting the 2004 Descartes prize, I presume. (I found this while googling something else today.)
The source of this image is here, but the Guardian/Observer article is more helpful.

We've talked about the benefits of kilts and the male intellect...with the increased air flow...everything works better!

You wouldn't believe the way I read this the first time through. I thought you'd offered to buy him a "university in Chicago" I need to wake up a little more. I guess I better get out and bush hog the lower field or something.

A few years ago, my ex came down with some testicular infection. His physician prescribed a powerful antibiotic normally used to treat infections in the brain. Because of the physiology of the brain, ordinary antibiotics are often ineffective in treating infections that occur there. The doctor said that the tissue that makes up the testes is remarkably similar to brain tissue.
This, I thought, explained a lot of things.

It makes sense now.

And all those years we've been told about thinking with the wrong head etc, and there is actually scientific proof? I wonder if I can use this new information to my advantage???? I can hear my excuses now. Thanks for the alibi Rex.
