Do I look Australian?
As we were waiting for the bus (train does not take one directly to the zoo) during our outing to the Zoo this past weekend, a woman who was also waiting, looked at my shirt, and asked if I liked Scuba diving. Being an avid (but alas, infrequent) diver, I answered Yes. She then proceeded to ask if I was Australian! I said no, I was from New York. The conversation continued from there on a number of topics, but just started out a little unusual.
And so you can decide for yourself, here is what I was wearing:

I can see where she would come up wtih that. You appear to be a very eco-friendly, aqua-centric, multi-cultural type of guy. This does not usually indicate an American And with the wide brim hat, to an average American, if it ain't a wide brim cowboy hat then it must be an Aussie hat.
On the other hand she might have been basing it on your outfit....

I agree, it had to be the hat.

Well, that's what I'd wear if I were going shark spotting on the Great Barrier Reef.
I have a similar hat. I'll have to try it with the kilt. Nice look.

Good on ya mate, must be the hat.
Ya never know what they're gonna say.
Saturday at the Post Office another guy is approaching the entrance from the opposite direction. He's staring at me. I'm wearing my Unorthodox Pagan t-shirt with chocolate UK Workman's. I just KNOW he's gonna say something.
I'm ready with all my standard kilt question responses.
He says, "I'm a Pagan too."
Was so off track all I could mumble was, "Cool" and kept on truckin'
