48 hour film festival Cincinnati
This weekend I will be making my 4th 48 hour film. This is a contest where teams have 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a short movie (two years ago we had to do a musical). It's crazy, but it is fun.
I am actually posting here to see if any of my kilted brothers in the Cincinnati area might be available (on short notice) if I needed kilted extras (hey it could happen). All of our shooting will take place on Saturday, and I probably wouldn't need people for long (and I might not at all). PM me with contact info, if you might be around.

I'll be in the air much of Saturday (kilted, of course), heading your general direction, but won't get in until late.
Good luck in your competition.

If you are interested the movie I made (The Kinkade Kode) will be shown at the Carnagie theater in Covington at 6:15 pm on Wed or at 9:00 pm on Friday (it will be shown with appx 10-11 other short films, some will be good some will be very bad). Other movies will be shown on Tue and Thur - (there area total of 48 films, and each group of 12 (no group actually had more than 11 turn in) gets two screenings.
The Carnagie has receintly been rehabbed and in beautiful. There are also a few art exhibits going on there right now, a digital media and some kind of installation thing going on out side.
Finally there is a bar, where else can you drink and watch movies? Admission is $6.00 for one group any night or $10 for both groups (I should be there for both my showings and there on Thursday to see the other groups).
Finally - The Kinkade Kode - a film that explores the hidden messages within the work of Thomas Kinkade and the inpact they can have on life as we know it. Plus, we have a ninja.
I tried to get my lead into a kilt, but he was just too small for any of mine (he was willing, just didn't happen).

I am scheduled for a "date" on Friday evening, but so far no specific plans for what that will entail. Dinner for sure, so the 9:00 show might be just the right thing to pad the evening. How long are the films?

The maximum length of the entries is 7 min (mine is 6:17), so the screening should be over at around 10:45 or earlier, and frankly nothing stopping you from leaving earlier. We tend not to take the screenings too seriously since most of us just make these films for fun, even though it is a contest. Best guess 3-4 will be good to great, 5-6 will be mediocre, 1-2 will be bad but over quickly, and a 50/50 chance one will suck so much you will wish you were dead (this is when you go and get drinks) .

Adam, congratulations on making it through! I wish that I had been closer, I would have tried out for the lead and I would have brought my own kilt, or maybe kilts depending on the story!
Wil you be able to publish a link to the finished product?

I have been wondering - where did your film end up in the rankings???
Hello Juggalo.

At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

In a word (or three) "We got screwed". While I didn't expect to win over all (I thought the geese had it), I did expect an award of somekind. Nothing, and I've had people from several teams say they were surprised at us taking nothing as well.

Take it as a complement, 'cause some of the most talented people don't get the recognition they deserve. Just keep doing what you love.
