Any man, regardless of nationality or ancestory can wear a kilt. Being Scottish or Irish is not a requirement.

YES! anyone can wear the kilt. There are literally dozens of Irish tartans available.(Why have Irish Tartans if the Irish can't wear them?) A search of the forums here on X-Marks will give you a LOT of info. Also, most of the kiltmakers who post and advertise here can get the Irish tartans. Here's one site to get you started.

    I'm an American Orthodox priest...

which means I am neither Roman Catholic, nor protestant, nor Irish, nor Scottish (though the wife is)...

    so it must be okay!

And my parish has several kilt wearers who are the same.

Welcome, and as one of our members has noted, you don't have to be Scottish (or Irish, or anything else) to be comfortable. And kilts are all about comfort.

So where in FL are you?

Here since May and with the recent threads here, this has been covered well.

Don't have to be Scottish (or % descent). Many here are not.

As for tartans, various opinions. Main-> have reason, know what it is and be able to explain. As for blood connection-> some say yes, some no. If in doubt, use a "general" tartan or national tartan (which fits you).

    Also, Welcome!

(Hey, we even let Englishmen on here  )
