I think I'm out of control

Before I met you guys I was a mild mannered computer guru.

Now I have this problem where I can't stop ordering kilts.

I have one Utilikilt original I love and one StillWater kilt that I'm not crazy about.

Then I ordered two more UK originals and one Mocker.

Then last night I ordered a denim Union kilt.

Now this morning I ordered an Amerikilt.

When does this craziness end? It's almost like I"m stuck in some sort of kilt ordering loop.

Last night I was going to bed and I said, "Well, before I go to bed, I MUST order a kilt!"

Then this morning I said, "Well, it's a new day - time to order a kilt!"

I'm going to end up with more kilts than I have pants. I'll have all these kilts hanging in my closet and I'm going to ask myself what in the world did you do?

Well....now that I have two kilts and a whopping 5 more on order I must stop. This is it....no more kilts this year.

Good luck with that one! Let's know how that works out for you.

Welcome to the addiction. Resistance is futile.

It's not about how many you have, but enjoying the ones you aready own.

Your story sounds similar to mine. I'm up to 13 now after wearing kilts less than a year. I reached saturation at around 12, but still find a reason to buy one occasionally (hmmm, nothing in green - hey, I'll buy that USA in Ireland's National for my birthday - yeah, that's it....). Uh oh, I don't have a red tartan. Let's see, if I use some my next month's paycheck, a little of savings, and some from a side job, I could do it......
See how easy it is to rationalize.

My wife complained that I have more skirts than her. Ha. I win!!

Many of us order quite a few kilts early on in the addiction. This is especially true if you have decided to wear a kilt full-time. When the rest of my orders arrive, I will have 20 kilts, but they have become my daily attire. I wear a different kilt everyday. What I wear depends of the activities for the day, as well as the weather. So even though I will have 20 kilts, there are only certain times of the year where wearing any one of those 20 is an option. In hot humid weather, there is only 8 of the 20 that I consider for wearing. Same thing for cold winter weather - only 8 that I'll consider.

My kilts range from 16 oz wool traditionals to 8.5 oz, non-traditional poly cotton. Basically a kilt for any occasion. If you wear a kilt full-time and consider your kilt count, you may find that it is similar to the number of slacks, jeans, and shorts that you used to wear.

No, just weeknights and weekends. That's all. It's fun wearing one at home and my cats like to curl up on it and go to sleep.

The fact of the matter is, I am just exploring. I want to see what is out there and what I might like.

By the way....what happened to the corduroy kilts on the Utilikilts web site??? I was going to order one when it got closer to winter and now I can't find them!!!

That's a very good question. I'd give them a call. I've never ordered through their site and always called. As a result of this, I've had my UKs in a few days as opposed to the 8+ weeks others have been waiting.

I am only doing solid color poly cotton and denim. I like those.

I'm trying to get out in public and push the "non-Scottish casual kilt" concept.

I have one Stillwater standard and the fabric is just so lightweight that I'm not happy with it. The fabric is rough also. Anyway, I like to feel like I'm really wearing something.
