Best jacket for business attire?
I'm at a crossroads. I need to order a jacket to wear in business and semi-formal occasions, and I'm torn. I love the PC, but the Argyle is also very sharp looking.
I'd like the opinion of the forum, which would be better suited to wear in a business environment?
And, with your choice, who would you recommend as the best maker/vendor for said jacket.
thanks...

Kilted KT,
There is no question, you should get the Argyle. PC vs. an Argyle jacket is the difference between a very nice suit and a tuxedo. Suits can be worn to a variety of functions, tuxedos are strickly formalwear. Also, I would get a waistcoat with your Argyle for when you need to dress it up.

I too would go with the Argyle, but a tweed version rather than the black wool, with silver buttons. The black w/ silver buttons still looks too formal for business attire. TFCK has some business attire jackets that might be "suitable".

jacket...
An Argyll jacket in Charcoal is probably the most versitile combination. As much as I love my lovat green tweed jacket, it is not the best for an occasion where the formal Argyll with silver buttons would not be quite appropriate -- and as Panache pointed out, the PC is for evening attire only.
So, to sum up -- a Charcoal Argyll Jacket (with waistcoat).
Cheers,
Todd

My thoughts precisely, although I would add the alternative of a Crail jacket - similar to the Argyll but with slightly less decorative cuffs.
Were I still at work, and had I the opportunities, I would opt most definitely for a TFCK kilted suit, probably in pinstripe -

Panache is correct. Get an Argyle type jacket. The PC is strictly formal wear.
J. Higgins sells Argyle style jackets for around $200:
