Help me a pick a Sporran and belt

ok, i know in the end i get to pick whatever i want, but i wanted to see what you guys thought.

I think i have got it down to the Country Sporran, the Rob Roy Sporran and the Inverness Standard Sporran all from buzz kidder.http://www.buzzkidder.citymax.com/page/page/512029.htm
out of all of these i just don't know what i should get.
it says the Inverness Standard Sporran is the largest they have. should i go with something bit smaller for my first Sporran or is it still a good size?
and am i reading it right that the Inverness Standard does not have the magnetic-snap?
How good is the magnetic-snapon on these?

How big/wide should a kilt belt be?
has any one tried the Sporran belt loops from buzz kidder? http://www.buzzkidder.citymax.com/ca...047/368115.htm

If you need more info, please let me know

Thank you all for any help

Only you can decide just how big a sporran you need. I've got both the Country Sporran and the Rob Roy and based on size and shape they are the same sporran. The only difference is the decorations: The Country has the celtic knot medallion and the Rob Roy has the tassels. They are both a good sized sporran, and they are made with soft leather, so they are pretty flexible. I don't have the Inverness yet, but it is supposed to be bigger.

I've got some of the sporran belt loops, but I never wear them anymore since I got a plain leather sporran strap.

I have a Country Sporran, as Dave notes it is really soft and supple leather and holds a lot. It is great for day wear but it is on the plain side for formal wear. I have worn mine with black tie simply because it is the only sporran I have.

It works very well, it is like the magnetic snaps that are common on women's purses.

My personal preferenece is the RobRoy because it has tassels and does not have the medallion on the flap.

The only thing I don't like about the Rob Roy is the ribbing visible on the outside means there is a rib of leather on the inside taking up a bit of space. I had emailed the company about getting a Country Sporran without the medallion but never received a response.

With the Country Sporran, if you deceide you want tassels, you just punch three holes in the face of the sporran and apply your own tassels whether they be horse hair or make your own leather ones.

They are roomy enough dor most items. I get my wallet in and a large key chain and a pack of gum or a pocket knife. Much more than that and the flap won't lay flat.

The magnet is sufficient to keep the flap from flopping around but not strong enough to hurt a magnetic strip on a creit card or ATM card. It will also not hold the flap so tight that it's difficult to open the flap.

All in all the Buzz Kidders are a great sporran until you upgrade to a Freelander.
