    Another Newbie! :-)

    Hi folks!
I'm really new to this, but I'm already wearing mine to church!
My Scotch lineage goes through my McGregor line and an un-clanned fellow with the last name of Proffit. He was taken prisoner in 1715 by the brits and sent to America as his punishment.
I bought a black watch kilt (with a Mcgregor kilt pin), belt, sporan, hose, and flashing, and I wear it with a white shirt and tie to church once a month. Boy do I get looks!!! I also have a Jacobite shirt that I only wear at festivals.
I'm learning all I can about kilts and such and I guess my next step might be to get a jacket before it gets too cold.
I found a website by Mathew Newsome (a member of this community) and he converts dress jackets to kilt jackets. I might try that.
    Anyway....Just saying hi!

Guid oan ye Jim! (Jist thoat ahd git in thair first!).

    All the best from Germany.

Your outfit sounds very smart. The Black Watch lends itself well to more 'serious 'outfits IMHO.

You'll not be a 'newbie' for long I'm sure.

Welcome aboard. BTW,Flashes are worn at the top of kilt hose. Flashings on the other hand are worn beneath the kilt. They are seen only when showing what is worn under the kilt or on very windy days.

A hearty howdy do to you JimB!
We've some mighty good threads of web weaving intrigue and delightful humor from time to time.
Welcome, have a seat, set a spell and cast a word or a million into the discourse!
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?
