balck and brown freelander sporran, black belt and brown shoes?

I'm ordering a freelander in the next day or so, and want the opinion of the forums if a black and brown two-tone freelander would enable the wearing of dark brown boots and a black belt? I'd rather not offend Hamish with mismatched leathers!!!

You don't have to consider me, KT, when you are putting an 'ensemble' together (but I am flattered that you might - even if you are not being serious!).

I think, under the circumstances, that I'd best reserve my judgement until I see the full effect in a photo! Don't you?

considering the boots I am looking at ( too hard to find a quality hiking boot in black), this is the boot I am comparing too.

it is a chestnut color. Hopefully will match up nicely with the dark brown and black freelander.

Maybe its just the pic, but that looks pretty black to me. I think the value of the black/chestnut sporran is to let you wear either brown or black leathers, but not necessarily mix them.

I love temptations, and frequently give in to them - I saw & bought in black!!

The 'shoes matching belt' seems to be a bit of an iron rule in sartorial circles

But as Kilted KT points out, some types of shoe are difficult to get in certain colours. I reckon if I came home wearing polished black brogues, and then slipped on brown walking boots for an evening stroll, I wouldn't dream of going to the trouble of changing belts too.

Do have a look at those dark brown tool belts though: 3" wide, lovely supple thick saddle leather, and usually cheaper than even a cheap kilt belt. I prefer it to my el cheapo 'piper's belt'.

    Looking forward to your pics!

I love my two tone Freelander and will post pics of it going with both brown and black. I think that Belt and Shoes MUST match always. But that sporran belt can differ with the right accessories.

    Cheers

And I wouldn't dream of not going to the trouble of changing belts.
