    Kilted on the Vulcan

Today saw the first of a series of weekly Sunday afternoon openings of the Vulcan bomber from now till the end of October as an added attraction at the aviation museum. I helped get her prepared today and here am I in the captain's seat on the flightdeck. You can just make out my Spirit of Scotland kilt. A few moments later the first visitors arrived unexpectedly early and had the question answered as I made my way down the ladders! Must remember not to go kilted next time I'm on Vulcan duty!

The Vulcan's a bit more complex than the Piper Cherokee which I fly!

But she's some size and carried a large payload!

    And graceful looking!

Neat plane! Wasn't it the one featured in the James Bond film "Thunderball".

    Cheers

Used to be the centrepiece of the Abbotsford Airshow year after year. Oh, it was a thing to see in the sky. Sniff... Ahh, the glory days....

That's a monster. A little bigger than the Cherokees I'm used to. A shout out here for the Pima (Tucson) Air museum and the Phoenix Fighter Museum. Both are Great. I'd be glad to take any visitors on the tour if they're ever out this way. O'Neille

    With an underwater landing?

BTW, wasn't the Vulcan used in the Falklands war?
