    RE: Glengarry Bhoys...

I saw them at Arlington and was not impressed. I don't think it is correct to sing Irish rebel songs at a Scottish Festival - chances of offending native Scots attending the event are very good. 'Bhoys' is a term used in a sectarian soccer sense in Scotland and basically their name alone alienates more than half of Glasgow's population. There is absolutely no place for sectarian rebel songs at a Scottish festival. It's no surprise then the tent they played in soon emptied. If they want to do that they should go to an Irish festival instead and even then they are likely to offend some people who are not of their opinions. I consider it extremely offensive actually to have sectarian issues shoved down my throat.

First off they are from Glengarry County ON Canada so their name is in reference to that. Secondly you should take a chill pill as to them playing traditional songs in a contemporary manner. I promise they are much more popular than you having sold a boat-load of records. Lastly why are you coming to this forum just to criticize everything you see or hear. Maybe you should look at other online communitues where that kind of thing is welcomed.
