    Kilt man

I was surfing the net and came across this news item. Check the link to listen to Tims Story: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/hometrut...kilt_man.shtml

Thanks for posting that link, though I am ambivalent about the interview. It's good to get air time, I suppose, but I didn't care for the interviewer's line of questioning - including The Question. And the caption under the photo on the web page is incorrect: it appears to be a kilt (or kilt-like garment), and not a sarong. But good for the guy for being his own man - I like that.

    Regards,

What a shame the BBC does not indicate the original date of transmission of that piece.

Actually, it was broadcast about three, maybe four, years ago. John Peel, the interviewer, was one of this country's most respected broadcasters - he died two years ago and is still sadly missed.

Tim Stannard, the interviewee, is an old friend of mine who practically 'lives' in Utilikilts, but who has no traditional kilts as they just do not appeal to him!

That interview, when originally transmitted, caused a bit of a stir but provided considerable publicity for the fact that unbifurcated garments for men do actually exist and are being worn.
