Question about What Price Glory

I'm saving up to buy a new kilt. The excitement is almost too much to bare. You guys know the feeilng. This will be my third kilt, and I've been looking all over to find something that really suits me.

The kilt that has become the obsession in my mind lately is the Cameron box pleat from this page ...

Does anyone have any experience with buying from this site, or with this type of kilt?

Any idea what kind of yardage it's made of?

Don't have any of his kilts, but do have a bunch of his replica battle jackets that I wear in cool weather with my kilts. They're Pakistani, which I believe his kilts are too, but of good quality.

My only warning is that he's a cool guy that works pretty much alone and he's far sighted so twice he's shipped me the wrong size battle jacket and had to go through the exchange process. He's apologetic about it. Says he doesn't always put his glasses on to read the size tags...remind him.

You should be able to search up a number of threads on this board about the What Price Glory kilts....they be heavy weight and warm for sure.

I have the Cameron from WPG. First off, dealing with Jerry is easy and his customer service is great. Not as fast as Stillwater, but only a couple days longer. Of course, nothing is as fast as Stillwater.

About the kilt, it's a reproduction of the vintage, I believe, WW I kilt and it's a heavy beast, 22 oz wool, blanket texture. It's a fantastic cold weather kilt, nice and warm. I've worn mine in temps ranging from 60 degrees to -10 degrees with little problem. For the money it's a really good deal. Like any military kilt, there are no belt loops. There are two loops sewn into the waistband for hanging it. I didn't care for the green waistband so I covered it with black bias tape. The black band looks better to me than the green although the green is authentic. If you plan to wear a kilt in cold weather it's what you need.

He's Major (retd) Jerry Lee. I've found him very helpful and accommodating. I bought two (replica) kilt aprons from him (they even had mock maker's labels with the date 1914 on them). They arrived quickly and in good order.
