Anger Management...Part Deux
I went over to Chicago Celtic Fest today...I'll post some photos and details a bit later...but I overheard some inconsiderate SOB make a comment about ANOTHER guy's kilt and it really got me P.O.'ed.
My wife, my daughter and I were standing near a tent where they were taching Scottish Country Dancing and watching the festivities. The Bears game had let out and various and sundry Bears fans were leaving the stadium and meandering through Celtic Fest. Two guys stopped and stood right next to me and the one said of the kilted young man who was teaching the dancing, "Hey...look...that guy's wearing a girls' school uniform just like my daughter's."
Perhaps they didn't notice that they were standing next to a guy in a kilt...me...who then turned and looked at the two of them like they were...well, like the jerks they were. I was hoping that the guy would turn and catch my withering gaze so I could ask, "...so which girl's school do you think THIS uniform came from, @$$#°£??"...but it was obvious that he noticed me out of the corner of his eye and he and his buddy quietly left.
And this was at CELTIC FEST...what did this jamoke expect to see...?
Anger management!
Anger management!
Sheeeesh!

Screw the management. I would have decked him. Chances are the guy teaching the country dancing could have walloped him... people who dance have a tendency to be pretty fit, where many football (the Bears are football?) fans are not I think.
That justfurther reinforces my negative opinions of mainstream sports fans. Sheesh.

Not so bright observation
Two guys stopped and stood right next to me and the one said of the kilted young man who was teaching the dancing, "Hey...look...that guy's wearing a girls' school uniform just like my daughter's.
That incident will make a nice entry on my other web site. Just send me a private note if you want to know it.
Just to tell that dumb ignorance is not an excuse in that context.

It can mean either "a big, dumb, generally blue-collar male" or "a big, dumb, generally black (Jamaican) male."
The first definition is certainly derogatory. The second is as well, with the added benefit of being offensive.

re: jamoke
...I never heard of the reference to Jamaicans...in Chicago it's more like the first definition: just a general name for a dopey mope who just clods their way through life slow on the uptake...it is, believe me, one of the lesser insults in Chicago-ese....kind of on a par with telling someone that they are "goofy".
