    Question Kilt songs?

Well, I like to go to kareoke (sp?) night at the local watering hole. Since I came from work I was not kilted, much to the dismay of my friends.
Anyhow, I wondered if there were any suggestions of songs that might be appropriate to sing while kilted? There are a ton of selections available, but very few if any celtic rock. So, any suggestions?

Heh... but will they have the song on their lists?
There are likely a number of rowdy, drinking songs that would go well kilted...
just I don't think most places would have them on their rosters.

How about "In heaven there ain't no beer..."

Several songs come to mind, like The Scotsmen. Not available. Flogging Molly? Not available. Glengarry Boys? Not available.

See my difficulty? I have sung; Whisky in the jar And Bob Segar, Turn the page. "Sometimes you can hear them talk other times you can't. The same old cliche, is it woman or is it man" I think Bob was refering to his long hair, but it works as related to a kilt.
    Anyone else?

How about Caledonia by Frankie Miller? Was this a hit in the states?

Don't You Forget About Me by Simple Minds is Scottish also.

I like to do karaoke as well at the AMVETS hall where I am a member. I have found that most of the karaoke DJ's will let you use your own discs. If you go very often, it makes it so much easier to have your own discs of the songs you like to sing. It also makes it easier to know what version of the song it will be, as you don't always know with the provided discs.

I get most of mine from here. I don't know if they would have the songs you want, though. I would recommend any rowdy drinking song.

Not really karaoke since its a capella but nothing better then a bunch of lads singing "Griggle Aye" by Clan An Drumma - should be the XMarks theme song!

IF we make it to the Cleveland area next year (and it's in the scheduling mode) feel free to join-in with everyone else in the crowd and sing-along to "What's Up Yours?"

The fourth CD will include: "She Wears The Pants And I Wear The Kilt"
    Arise. Kill. Eat.

How about the "alternative" words to Wild Rover...

    And it's No, Nay, Never
(shouted by drunken crowd) RISE UP YOUR KILT!
    No, Nay, Never, No more
    (shouted) UP YOURS!
And I'll plaaaaaaaay the wild rover
    (shouted) f- you!
    No Never, No more.

Last "shout" can be changed to something else or omitted if it's a "family friendly" place.

We used to sing "RIGHT UP YOUR KILT" rather than "rise" at St Andrews

I taught that phrase to Derek last Saturday
