Standing On The Corner In Winslow, Arizona
Was out running around the Navajo and Hopi Rezs this weekend. Made it down to Winslow for grub. Had to stop at the statue commemorating the Eagles song.
Sadly, the hotel burned down a while ago, but the chamber of commerce has the one wall propped up for photo background.
The flash blew out the Route 66 sign.
That's my Cameron Black and Red 13 oz from House of Edgar Old and Rare hand sewn by Kathy Lare of Kathy's kilts.

SWEET!
I meant to do that while I was out that way. I didn't realize there was a statue there. VERY cool! I saw the signs for Winslow, and of course the tune came rushing through my head.

Hey - there's a reflection in the hotel window of a girl (My Lord!) in a flat bed Ford... Too much fun!

Yes, that is a painting. Looks pretty good, doesn't it?

Aye, that's a wonderful "reflected" painting of a girl in a flatbad Ford...and a painting of an Eagle on the window ledge above the statue...and over to the right out of the picture is a painting of a window with the shade down a bit, but still up enough to see a young man and young woman's waist area while they "hug."
Paintings are really well done.

Thanks to Jackson Browne for writing that song and the Eagles to make it a hit!

Oooooops! Showing my age here. When I saw your thread title, Ron, I immediately started humming 'Standing on the corner, watching all the girls go by', one of the hit songs from Frank Loesser's musical: "Most Happy Fella"!
'fraid I've never heard of the one you are all talking about!!!
PS: I really love that kilt!

Oddly enough, just after I opened this thread, I heard Travis Tritt's version of the song (that he did for the tribute album) on the radio.
