My Red Headed Lady Chose This Kilt

My lady is a honcho of sorts at Hopi Healthcare, the hospital on the Hopi Reservation. She was in charge of the annual awards banquet this year and was receiving a couple of awards. When I asked her what I should wear she said, "Let me see." We went through all 48 of my kilts and she chose this USA Kilts Thomson Gray Semi-Traditional. Then she added the maroon/cranberry shirt and kilt hose. My gig line is askew since she took this pic at the end of the evening. A lovely affair crowned by an appearance of the Hopi Buffalo Dancers. Sorry, not pics of that due to the Hopi rule against cameras.





Got a pic of my USA Kilts Ramsay casual that I wore on the way down. Taken at Antelope Pass on the Navajo Nation.







Wore my Chocolate UK Workman's for the drive back. Tried a new back road across the Hope and Navajo Reservations and got lost again...if I were Columbus I would have discovered Greenland!

Worked out okay, I wound up at the Tsegi Canyon overlook on the North rim of Black Mesa.



Even though I was lost most of the time, I didn't know it and just enjoyed the beauty and serenity of the near wilderness of both reservations.

I really like the look of the Thompson Grey Semi-Trad, it looks very nice with the maroon shirt and all. You pull it of well. Thanks for the pics.

Ooh! That's the first time I have seen the grey made up into a kilt. Looks better than I expected.

Any specific reason for having a Thomson? BTW there's no 'P' in the Scottish spelling of the name. Sorry it was my late father's pet peeve.

Sorry MacT, I know there's no P in Thomson...long day, was a typo...and I'm always having to correct folks spelling of my name, sorry.

One of my great great grandfather's middle name was Thomson...hence my choice of that tartan. Levi Thomson Scott. Suspect it was a maternal clan of his father's or his mother's family name. Don't know for sure yet. His father was William C. Scott...we're back about the time of the war of 1812 now.

Absolutely no offence taken Ron. Thompson is the correct spelling for some, even in Scotland, just Thomson is more prevalent up north. As I said before thanks very much for the picture, the outfit looks awesome. It's nice to see it made up and I'm honoured you have one in your kollection.

Very slow download and only the first and last pics eventually downloaded, but worth the wait. That first pic presents a smart image for the Hopi event and the scenery in the last picture is really superb, with the lake in the background.
